The death of Bangladeshi content creator and actress Karina Kaisar has cast a shadow of grief across the country’s entertainment industry, with filmmakers, actors, colleagues, and fans paying heartfelt tributes on social media.
Among those expressing deep sorrow was acclaimed filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, who shared an emotional message remembering Karina’s personality, talent, and humanity. In a lengthy social media post, Farooki recalled her cheerful presence, sharp wit, and the memorable experiences they shared while working together.
He wrote that Karina had always stood beside people during difficult times and said Bangladesh would remember her for her courage and kindness. Farooki also fondly remembered the first time Karina visited his home, recalling how she shyly asked to take a photo with him and actress Nusrat Imrose Tisha because she was their fan, while they responded by saying they were admirers of her work as well.
Reflecting on her passing, Farooki prayed for her peace and expressed disbelief at losing someone whose vibrant personality had touched so many people. In the closing part of his message, he criticized individuals who react insensitively to tragic deaths online, saying that some people are known not only for violence against humanity but also for celebrating death itself.
Karina’s death has prompted an outpouring of grief from across the entertainment community. Friends and colleagues described her as warm, humorous, and effortlessly friendly, while others praised her resilience during her recent illness.
Karina Kaisar died on Friday while undergoing treatment in Chennai, India, following complications related to liver failure caused by Hepatitis A and E infections. She had been flown to Chennai earlier in the week for advanced treatment and was receiving care at the Christian Medical College Hospital in Vellore. Her condition later deteriorated, and she was placed on life support.
She was 30 years old and is survived by her parents and two brothers. Karina was also the granddaughter of renowned chess player Rani Hamid.
Although widely recognized as a content creator, Karina had recently been focusing on acting and scriptwriting. Her notable works included Internship and 36-24-36.
