Gold and silver prices set new records in Bangladesh as the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) announced another sharp increase effective nationwide from Wednesday.
BAJUS said in a late-Tuesday notice that prices were adjusted after a rise in the local rate of pure (tejabī) gold. The top 22-carat gold band will now sell for Tk 244,128 per bhori, up by as much as Tk 5,249 per bhori. Other categories were revised to Tk 232,988 (21k), Tk 199,746 (18k), and Tk 163,821 (traditional).
Silver also moved higher to fresh highs: Tk 6,590 per bhori (22k), Tk 6,299 (21k), Tk 5,424 (18k), and Tk 4,082 (traditional).
