Seven-time Grand Slam champion, fashion designer and entrepreneur Venus Williams has confirmed her engagement to Italian-Danish actor, model and producer Andrea Preti, sharing photos on Instagram on December 2.
Rumors of the relationship began in July 2024 when the pair were photographed on a boat off Italy’s Amalfi Coast. Speculation intensified after Williams was seen in Rome in February 2025 wearing a diamond ring on her left hand. On July 22 this year, following a tournament victory, she told reporters, “My fiancé is here. He inspires me to keep playing,” but offered no further details until this week’s post.
Family preparations are already under way. Younger sister Serena Williams is overseeing events—from the wedding party and bridal styling to décor and logistics—with the ceremony expected as soon as January in Italy, according to family discussions.
The engagement marks a rare public milestone in Williams’s private life. Though previously linked to golfer Hank Kuehne (2007–2010), Cuban model Elio Pis (from around 2012 to 2015), businessman Nicholas Hammond (circa 2017–2019) and a brief, unconfirmed tennis-world romance in 2021, none progressed to an announced engagement. In a 2022 interview, Williams said she was happily single and felt “no pressure” to couple up, adding she’d welcome partnership if the “right person” appeared.
By sharing her first official photos with Preti, Williams signaled that moment has arrived—drawing a flood of congratulations from fans and fellow athletes across social media.
