Daffodil International University (DIU) celebrated International Women’s Day 2025 on March 8 under the theme “Accelerate Action.” HerNet TV proudly partnered as the media sponsor.

The event, held on campus, honored the strength, resilience, and impact of women driving change. Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of DIU, delivered the inaugural speech, emphasizing the need for greater gender inclusivity. The session was conducted by Ms. Anubhab Rahman, Director of Human Resources, DIU, and featured a panel discussion with distinguished women leaders:

  • Ms. Shamim Ara Khanom, Head of International Division, Social Islami Bank PLC
  • Ms. Zarin Kareem, Managing Director, Orion Group
  • Ms. Alisha Pradhan, CEO, HerNet TV
  • Ms. Razia Sultana, Renowned Makeup Artist
  • Professor Dr. Liza Sharmin, Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences

Professor Dr. Syed Akter Hossain, Dean, FSIT, and Professor Dr. Md. Masum Iqbal, Dean, Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship, also shared their insights.

Following the discussion, Alisha Pradhan, founder of HerNet Foundation, opened the floor for female students to engage directly with the panelists. Thought-provoking leadership questions were raised, sparking an inspiring exchange between students and guests. Ms. Zareen has expressed her deep appreciation to the students for their courage and zeal along with other guests.

The event concluded with a token of appreciation—flowers and gifts presented to the panelists—followed by a group photo session. Later, guests were given a tour of Bangladesh’s largest university, showcasing its comprehensive campus facilities, including hospitals, malls, gyms, hostels, hotels, lakes, sports grounds, libraries, cafeterias, and restaurants.
