Renowned Islamic speaker Mizanur Rahman Azhari has returned to Bangladesh after nearly four and a half years. On Wednesday, October 2nd, he arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the afternoon.
In a post on his verified Facebook page on Wednesday evening, Azhari expressed his gratitude for his safe return, writing, “Alhamdulillah, I have arrived safely in my beloved motherland. May this return be blessed. I request your prayers.”
His return was warmly welcomed by his uncle, Mosharraf Hossain, who shared a photo on social media of Azhari being greeted with flowers at the airport. Hossain captioned the post, “Alhamdulillah, our beloved leader is now back in our beloved motherland, Bangladesh.”
In January 2020, Azhari announced on his Facebook page that he would be pausing all his public engagements and traveling to Malaysia for research purposes. He stated, “Due to some circumstantial reasons, I have to conclude this year’s Tafsir programs here. Therefore, my remaining programs until March are postponed. I am returning to Malaysia for my research work. If Allah, the Lord of the Universe, wills, we shall meet and talk again, InshaAllah.”
Since that announcement, Azhari had not participated in any religious gatherings nor had he returned to Bangladesh until now.
