In the wake of the quota reform movement, injuries among students have prompted widespread concern. Prominent YouTuber, content creator, and actor Salman Muktadir has stepped forward to offer his support. Early on Tuesday, July 16, 2024, he expressed his willingness to help on Facebook, specifically targeting those who have been unable to return to their halls or have suffered attacks.
Salman wrote, “Is there any student who has been attacked or cannot enter their hall? I will take responsibility for them. Filtering out your messages from the thousands is practically impossible for me.”
He further urged those in need of help to connect with him through mutual friends listed on his Facebook, emphasizing the logistical challenges of reaching out directly in such situations. Salman also mentioned his readiness to provide shelter and medical assistance, stating, “If you need a place to stay or medical services, I am here.” He admitted to feeling overwhelmed and embarrassed that despite his popularity, he felt inadequate in addressing the students’ plight fully.
This declaration came after tensions escalated at Dhaka University on Monday afternoon, resulting in confrontations between different student groups. In response to the attacks by student league members on activists, students across the nation have planned protest marches on every campus for Tuesday. Shortly after these announcements, student league supporters also called for rallies to consolidate their stance.
