The echoes of talent resonated through the halls of the American International School Dhaka on May 11, 2024, during the Dhaka International Schools Elementary Choir Festival. Among the esteemed attendees were students from the most privileged backgrounds, rubbing shoulders with a remarkable group from the Abinta Kabir Foundation, representing the underprivileged.
Imagine this: daughters of the poorest parents, enrolled at Abinta Kabir Foundation for a mere 2000 taka a month, belting out 5/6 English songs alongside peers from American and Grace International Schools. Under the baton of internationally acclaimed conductor Kenny Allen, these girls showcased their prowess, rivaling their counterparts from schools where the annual fees soar to almost 40 lakh taka.
Allen orchestrated a symphony of eight songs in various languages, captivating the entire auditorium. However, it was the resounding applause for the Abinta Foundation children that stole the show.
Let’s not forget the foundation’s genesis – a tragic chapter in Bangladesh’s history. Miss Abinta Kabir, 19 years old young women, who selflessly gave her life to save others at Holy Artisan Terrorist Attack. But her vision for a brighter future lived on through her diaries. Today, her legacy stands tall, a beacon of hope for the underprivileged, empowering dreams of becoming doctors, leaders, scientists, engineers, even prime ministers.
HerNet, a steadfast supporter since 2019, continues to amplify the foundation’s success stories. Join us in championing the Abinta Kabir Foundation and visit their website to make a difference in these remarkable girls’ lives.”
