আফগানিস্তানের বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে নারীদের নিষিদ্ধ করেছে তালেবান। তালেবানের উচ্চ শিক্ষামন্ত্রীর একটি চিঠিতে এ নিষেধাজ্ঞার ঘোষণা দেওয়া হয়েছে। চিঠিতে বলা হয়েছে, পরবর্তী নির্দেশ না দেওয়া পর্যন্ত আফগানিস্তানে নারীদের জন্য বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় বন্ধ থাকবে। এই সিদ্ধান্ত অবিলম্বে কার্যকর হবে বলে মনে করা হচ্ছে।কাবুল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের এক ছাত্রী বিবিসিকে বলেছেন, খবরটি শোনার পর থেকে তিনি কেঁদেই চলছেন।পদক্ষেপটির মধ্য দিয়ে আনুষ্ঠানিক শিক্ষায় আফগান নারীদের প্রবেশাধিকারকে আরও সীমিত করল তালেবান। দেশটিতে ইতিমধ্যে বেশির ভাগ মাধ্যমিক বিদ্যালয় থেকে মেয়ে শিক্ষার্থীরা বাদ পড়েছে।
