In a resounding testament to Bangladesh’s unwavering commitment to progress, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated the impressive 15-storey Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Bhaban and the 13-storey Information Commission Bhaban today. The virtual inauguration ceremony, held at the Gono Bhaban, also marked the commencement of the Bangladesh Film Development Corporation (BFDC) Complex as Prime Minister Hasina laid the foundation stone.

Despite grappling with a range of challenges, including natural disasters and acts of terrorism, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s administration remains steadfast in its pursuit of development and prosperity for Bangladesh. During the inauguration, she stated, “We want the country’s continued journey towards development.” This determination echoes the nation’s resilience and resolve to overcome obstacles on its path to growth.

Prime Minister Hasina expressed her gratitude to the people of Bangladesh for repeatedly entrusting her party, the Awami League, with their votes. She attributed the nation’s progress to the stability provided by democratic governance since 2009.

One of the cornerstones of Prime Minister Hasina’s leadership has been the vision to transform Bangladesh into a Digital Bangladesh, a goal that was outlined in the party’s 2008 election manifesto. Now, the government is tirelessly working to evolve this into a Smart Bangladesh by 2041, showcasing its dedication to embracing technology and innovation for a brighter future.

The newly inaugurated BTRC Bhaban and Information Commission Bhaban stand as striking symbols of progress. The BTRC Bhaban, occupying an acre of land, and the Information Commission Bhaban, covering 0.35 acres, represents not only architectural achievements but also the country’s determination to modernize its infrastructure.

Highlighting the legacy of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Father of the Nation, Prime Minister Hasina underlined, “Whenever we take any development initiative, we find that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had given its foundation. Today’s Bangladesh is approaching development depending on the foundation built by Bangabandhu.”

The event was attended by key government officials, including Information and Broadcasting Minister Hasan Mahmud and Posts and Telecommunications Minister Mustafa Jabbar. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Secretary Mohammad Salahuddin moderated the proceedings, ensuring a seamless flow of the ceremony.

As part of the inauguration, an engaging audio-video documentary was screened, showcasing the impressive architecture of the BTRC and Information Commission bhabans as well as providing a glimpse into the future BFDC Complex.

In a world facing numerous challenges, the inauguration of these significant infrastructure projects stands as a testament to Bangladesh’s determination to forge ahead and create a brighter, technologically advanced, and prosperous future for its citizens.
