A striking illustration of this transformation is embodied by Team “Celestials,” an all-female squad that recently made waves by clinching victory in the Bangladesh Association of Software & Information Services (BASIS) eSports Championship. Comprising six outstanding members – Moxie, Athena, Taz, Sidiscrazy, Bluecloudedgrey, and Rimsha Iqbal (also known as Uziboozie) – this team’s cohesion and collective prowess propelled them to triumph.

Rimsha Iqbal, a valued member of Team Celestials, provides insight into their journey and her experiences as a female gamer in Bangladesh. Underscoring their strategy, Rimsha remarks, “Our focus was on seamless teamwork and coordination, with an unwavering trust in each other’s gameplay and decisions, ultimately securing our victory while juggling our daily commitments.”

The allure of gaming, the camaraderie within the competitive community, and the encouragement from peers and fans fuel Rimsha’s passion for esports. Despite encountering obstacles like gender bias, stereotypes, and negativity, Rimsha believes that perseverance and diligence can overcome these challenges. Team Celestials’ genesis traces back to casual online tournaments, and today they compete from the comfort of their homes, incurring only internet and electricity expenses.

Rimsha champions esports as a platform that cultivates teamwork, communication, strategy, and sportsmanship. She enthusiastically urges girls and women to delve into FPS or MOBA games like CSGO, Valorant, PUBG, Apex Legends, Dota 2, League of Legends, and Mobile Legends for a taste of competitive engagement. Rimsha envisions esports as a viable career path, whether as a streamer or a professional player, demanding rigorous training, unwavering commitment, and a disciplined practice regimen spanning eight to nine hours a day. Beyond her gaming pursuits, Rimsha aspires to study abroad and dreams of becoming a travel vlogger.

Addressing the earnings potential for girls in esports, Rimsha acknowledges the current limitations in Bangladesh, citing factors such as streaming platforms and payment options. Despite these challenges, she remains optimistic about the evolving landscape, anticipating brighter prospects in the near future.
