Vowing “no compromise” on women’s dignity and safety, the chief of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami told supporters that ensuring “100% safety and honor at home and in the workplace” is a core commitment the party will “fight for until achieved.” Speaking Friday morning at an 11-party alliance election rally on the grounds of Rashik Chandra (RC) College in Mehendiganj, he said, “We are ready to give our lives, but we will not pawn a mother’s honor.”

Addressing recent reports of harassment of hijab- and niqab-wearing women, he questioned “how anyone can think of tugging at a woman’s clothing,” adding that public outrage had grown nationwide. Turning to jobs, he said youths “never asked for unemployment stipends—they asked for work,” and pledged opportunities for all citizens if his party forms government.

He dismissed what he called fabricated allegations against him, urging the public not to “underestimate 180 million people,” and argued that “truth cannot remain concealed.” The rally concluded with the presentation of election symbols to candidates in Barishal’s five constituencies. The Jamaat chief also introduced alliance partner AB Party’s general secretary Mohammad Asaduzzaman Bhuiyan (Barrister Fuad) as the contender in Barishal-3.
