The prestigious non-profit organization Inner Wheel, renowned for its century-long dedication to community service and women’s empowerment, marked its 100th anniversary with a splendid celebration at the Sharathand Hotel. This remarkable event, highlighted by cultural exchanges and performances, underscored the organization’s global impact, particularly in Bangladesh.
Inner Wheel, present in over 80 countries, unites women of diverse ages and professions in a common goal: to serve and uplift communities through initiatives in health, education, and support for the underprivileged. The Bangladeshi chapter of Inner Wheel has been particularly noted for its exceptional contributions, making this centennial celebration a significant milestone.
The event was graced by the presence of both the International and Local Presidents of Inner Wheel, Umok, along with Dilruba Ahmed, the convener and the driving force behind this initiative. Representatives from numerous notable chapters worldwide attended, showcasing the organization’s vast and diverse network.

A cultural program, spanning the entire day, featured a range of activities from dance performances to a variety of songs, culminating in a grand dinner. The highlight of the evening was a special performance by Elita Karim, a prominent Bangladeshi singer. Karim debuted a song dedicated to Inner Wheel, adding a musical tribute to the organization’s noble causes.

The event also included a significant moment of recognition for several notable women who have made outstanding contributions in various fields. Among them was the youngest honoree, Alisha, the founding CEO of Harnay Television, recognized for her impactful work in women empowerment, youth engagement, and AIDS awareness.
