The chosen films will compete for distinction in the category now designated as Best International Feature Film, a title previously denoted as Best Foreign Language Film.
In order to meet the eligibility criteria for this prestigious competition, a Bangladeshi film must fulfill specific requisites. It must qualify as a feature-length production, encompass English subtitles, and have undergone a screening period of at least seven days in theaters. Furthermore, the film’s release date must fall within the time frame of December 1, 2022, to October 31.

Burgeoning filmmakers and producers who are enthusiastic about participating are requested to acquire submission forms and comprehensive guidelines from the premises of Ashirbad Cholochitro, conveniently located at 7/9, Eastern Commercial Complex, 73 Kakrail in the capital city. The deadline for submissions is September 5, with a cutoff time of 5 pm.
To oversee the selection proceedings, an eight-member committee has been constituted, with the esteemed film personality Syed Salahuddin Zaki at its helm. This committee, an initiative spearheaded by the Bangladesh Federation of Film Societies, aims to propose Bangladeshi films for potential inclusion in the Best International Feature Film category at the Oscars.
The eagerly anticipated 96th Oscars ceremony will be hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, with the distinguished event scheduled for March 10, 2024.
