The ministry argued the episode \u201cthreatens Bangladesh\u2019s democratic transition, peace and security,\u201d and called it a clear affront to principles of <strong>sovereign respect, non-interference and good-neighborliness<\/strong> it expects in bilateral relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The statement also criticized India for \u201cinaction\u201d on Dhaka\u2019s repeated requests to return Hasina under a <strong>bilateral extradition arrangement<\/strong>, asserting that instead she was enabled to deliver \u201cinflammatory\u201d remarks on Indian soil\u2014something the ministry warned could set a <strong>dangerous precedent<\/strong> for the future of Bangladesh-India ties and complicate cooperation with the country\u2019s next elected government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Reiterating that the activities of the <strong>Awami League<\/strong> have been banned by the interim authorities, the foreign ministry said the party\u2019s leadership has \u201conce again shown\u201d why the government moved to proscribe it, and declared the party would be held <strong>responsible<\/strong> for any election-period violence.
