The result is chaos in the labour market and a de facto barrier to women\u2019s employment,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jahed further alleged the promise is a tactical move to <strong>pressure the BNP<\/strong> during the election season. He predicted Jamaat would roll out more \u201csky-high, unworkable\u201d pledges, forcing BNP onto the defensive. \u201cCitizens should not accept feel-good promises without detailed implementation plans,\u201d he added, urging parties to present complete road maps\u2014costing, legislation, enforcement, and timelines\u2014or refrain from using \u201cgimmicks\u201d to seek votes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>While acknowledging the stated intent to ease the burden on mothers, Jahed said meaningful reform would require <strong>gender-neutral, evidence-based measures<\/strong>\u2014such as paid parental leave, universal childcare, flexible hours available to all employees, anti-discrimination enforcement, and clear productivity standards\u2014rather than a headline-grabbing differential that violates the principle of equal pay for equal work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWhether it\u2019s Jamaat, BNP, NCP or any contender,\u201d he concluded, \u201cno one should campaign with absurd promises.
