Celebrated Bangladeshi artist and children\u2019s art educator Samir Majumder passed away on Saturday morning, May 31, 2025, at the age of 55. He died at Mugda Medical College Hospital in Dhaka at around 8:00 AM while undergoing treatment for lung cancer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A beloved student of legendary painter S.M. Sultan, Majumder was known not only for his artistic brilliance but also for his lifelong dedication to nurturing creativity among children. He was a central figure in Bangladesh\u2019s art movement and the visionary founder of “Shishuswargo,” an initiative that provided a free and imaginative space for children to explore and express their thoughts through painting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Artist Mozai Jibon Safari confirmed Majumder\u2019s death, stating that he had been on life support in the ICU after a prolonged battle with cancer. Despite his illness, Majumder remained an emblem of inspiration for countless young minds and fellow artists across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
