The incident took place in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, and has sparked outrage among the local community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to a report by <em>The Independent<\/em>, legal action has been taken against the owner of the tattoo parlor following complaints from religious groups. The accused, 33-year-old Rocky Ranjan Bisoi, told the police that the tattoo was created by his 25-year-old artist, Ashwini Kumar, at the request of an Italian woman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The controversy erupted after Rocky posted a picture of the woman and her tattoo on his WhatsApp status. The image quickly spread across social media, triggering backlash and leading to a formal complaint. Following this, a case was filed at the Sahid Nagar police station on Sunday night based on reports from several devotees of Lord Jagannath.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Authorities have since arrested both the tattoo artist and the parlor owner on charges of hurting religious sentiments. They have also warned the foreign woman against repeating such actions. The police confirmed that the woman is currently working in Bhubaneswar and has been identified. The parlor where she got the tattoo has also been traced, and legal proceedings have been initiated against her as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the uproar, the woman and the parlor owner released a video on social media apologizing for the incident. In the video, the woman expressed deep regret, saying she had no intention of disrespecting Lord Jagannath. She described herself as a devoted follower who visits the temple daily and insisted that she had requested the tattoo to be placed in a hidden area, not intending to offend anyone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">She further stated, \u201cI made a mistake, and I sincerely apologize for it. I will remove the tattoo as soon as possible. Please forgive me for this error.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The incident has once again highlighted the sensitivity of religious symbols in India, where depictions of deities in unconventional ways often spark controversy.
