The Japanese Embassy in Dhaka hosted a vibrant Japanese Film Festival for Children<\/strong> on November 23, 2024, in celebration of Japan\u2019s rich cinematic culture and its commitment to fostering cultural exchange. The event, supported by the KINEKO International Film Festival<\/strong>, the largest children\u2019s film festival in Japan, showcased a collection of award-winning short films tailored for young audiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

His Excellency\u00a0Iwama Kiminori<\/strong>, the Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, delivering heartfelt greetings that set a warm tone for the festival. Attended by over a hundred distinguished guests, diplomats, educators, and students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entire arrangement of the referenced event was organized by Ms.Tomomi Kiminori, the wife of the Japanese Ambassador to Bangladesh, with significant support from other diplomatic spouses including Mrs. Ritu Sharma<\/strong>, spouse of the Indian Ambassador;\u00a0Mrs. Paula Alessandra Cresci<\/strong>, spouse of the Italian Ambassador; and\u00a0Mrs.Sata Keita Seck<\/a><\/strong>, spouse of the World Bank Country Director in Bangladesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The program commenced with a video message from the Director of the KINEKO International Film Festival, followed by screenings of celebrated short films such as “Komaneko,” “Grandpa\u2019s Star Fireworks,”<\/strong> and “That\u2019s the Only Option, Isn\u2019t It?”<\/strong>. The live narration in Bangla brought these masterpieces closer to the young audience, allowing them to experience the magic of Japanese storytelling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Children eagerly participated in post-screening discussions, showcasing their curiosity and enthusiasm for the art of filmmaking. The event concluded with a screening of “Sweet,”<\/strong> which was equally well-received, followed by engaging conversations with the kids & later the very chocolate shown in the film was distributed among guests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The festival\u2019s meticulous organization and the charming ambiance, enriched by thoughtful decor and gifts, earned widespread appreciation. Alisha Pradhan<\/strong>, Founding CEO of HerNet TV, was also in attendance along with the DMD of HerNet TV Faiza Pradhan Taj, extending her support and admiration for such meaningful cultural initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
