This initiative, envisioned and conceptualized by Alisha Pradhan, founding CEO and MD of HerNet TV, represents a strong commitment to empowering the youth of Bangladesh in addressing the multifaceted challenges they face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event, telecast live on HerNet TV, brought together bright students from ten prestigious universities, providing them a platform to express their insights, aspirations, and innovative solutions to the evolving challenges of Bangladesh. This episode&#8217;s focus was &#8220;Power in Participation: Policy Making, Rule of Law, Human Rights, Civic Education,&#8221; viewed through the lens of the Bangladeshi youth. The dialogue was participated by six bright students from ULAB.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The dialogue was chaired by Masdupuy, showcasing a diverse panel that reflected the multifaceted nature of the discussions. The chief guests was Prof. Imran Rahman, honorable vice chancellor of ULAB. French Ambassador to Bangladesh, Marie Masdupuy, highlighted the decisive actions taken by the youth in adapting to climate change impacts. &#8220;They act decisively at a local level, helping people to adapt in an efficient way,&#8221; she said, noting the increasing attention from traditional politicians to these young voices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Including other distinguished guests, there was H.E Essa Youssef Essa Al Duhailan, Ambassador of Royal Saudi Embassy to Bangladesh, Monir Prodhan, advisor of HerNet Group; Hosna Prodhan, chairperson of HerNet TV; Prof. Jude W. Prof. Imran Rahman, Vice Chancellor of ULAB, spoke about the youth&#8217;s increasing involvement in policy making and their critical role in upholding the rule of law and human rights. He emphasized the power of participation and how it can lead to significant changes in civic education and governance. Similarly, Alisha Pradhan, the founder of HerNet Group, highlighted the innovative and resilient spirit of the youth, which is essential for driving social change. Sheldon Yett, Country Director of UNICEF in Bangladesh, highlighted the extraordinary potential of young people in driving social and environmental reforms. He emphasized the importance of nurturing this potential by providing platforms where youth can voice their concerns and propose innovative solutions, especially in the context of climate change and human rights issues. Yett stressed that when young people are engaged and their opinions valued, they can make a significant impact on policy formulation and implementation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monir Prodhan, advisor of HerNet Group, offered insights into how the youth&#8217;s fresh perspectives are instrumental in challenging traditional narratives and bringing about more inclusive and effective governance. Meanwhile, Dilruba Ahmed, President of Zonta International, discussed the importance of gender inclusivity in these youth-led initiatives. She pointed out that empowering young women to participate in these dialogues is crucial for ensuring a holistic approach to solving complex societal problems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each speaker, in their own way, underscored the pivotal role of Bangladesh&#8217;s youth in not only addressing the immediate challenges of climate change and governance but also in shaping a sustainable future for the nation. HerNet TV focuses on women&#8217;s rights, women&#8217;s empowerment, and provides realistic entertainment and educational programs for marginalized communities, including the autistic community and the third gender. It also concentrates on the rights of disadvantaged women and children, advancing towards the SDG Goal 2030. Since HerNet&#8217;s inception in 2018, Pradhan has earned widespread acclaim for her commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals and advocacy for women, children, youth, and marginalized communities. Her remarkable efforts have been acknowledged with honors from the Presidents of Nepal and Bangladesh, the King of Malaysia, and the Prime Minister of Kosovo, among others. Notably, Pradhan stands as the first Bangladeshi woman to grace an international TEDx stage, showcasing her trailblazing leadership and global impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event underscored the critical role of youth in shaping a resilient and sustainable future for Bangladesh.
