Dhaka, Bangladesh<\/strong> – The HerNet Foundation, in partnership with the European Union, recently hosted the second episode of the groundbreaking series, “Bangladesh Decides: The Youth Speaks” (BDYS) at IUBAT – International University of Business Agriculture and Technology. This event, held under the theme “Voice of Today for Sustainable Tomorrow,” was a resonating success, shining a spotlight on the empowering discussions about Bangladesh’s emerging economy and the role of its youth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visionary event, conceptualized by Alisha Pradhan, founding CEO and MD of HerNet TV, was co-funded and supported by the EU Embassy in Bangladesh, underscoring their dedication to nurturing young minds in the region. BDYS served as a vibrant platform for students from ten prestigious universities, providing them with an opportunity to voice their insights, aspirations, and innovative solutions to the nation\u2019s evolving challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The episodes, telecast live on HerNet TV, showcased a diverse range of perspectives, focusing on the multifaceted identity challenges facing Bangladeshi youth. Founded in 2018 and licensed by the government of Bangladesh, HerNet TV has been a pioneer in amplifying women’s voices and sharing their stories on a global stage. This event further solidified the channel’s commitment to reshaping narratives around women’s roles and experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event commenced with the national anthem, beautifully performed by the Abinta Kabir Foundation, setting an inspiring tone for the day. The participants and audience alike were welcomed by the host from HerNet Foundation and HerNet TV, who introduced the event’s theme and acknowledged the vital support of the European Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Highlighting the identity crisis among South Asian youth, BDYS provided a platform for students from ten universities to share their visions and strategies for Bangladesh. The event emphasized “Empowering the Workforce: Education Reform, Technological Innovation, and Sustainable Development” from a Bangladeshi perspective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esteemed guests, including Prof. Dr. Abdur Rab, Vice-Chancellor of IUBAT, Mohammad Hatem, Executive President of BKMEA, and Maj. Gen. Tawhid Mohammad, CEO of Group Nautika, among others, graced the event with their presence. Their insights and leadership significantly contributed to the depth of the discussions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The highlight of the event was the engaging dialogue session moderated by Alisha Pradhan, founder of the HerNet Group. Six talented students – Sumaya Binte Delwar, Tonima Zaman Zeba, Tanzibul Mostafa Mohaimin, Sultan Salauddin, Ishrat Jahan Nina, and Marzia Tasnim – took the stage, offering fresh perspectives and innovative ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event concluded with a certificate distribution ceremony, acknowledging the contributions of all participants. Prof. Dr. Abdur Rab, along with other dignitaries and student participants, received certificates and tokens of appreciation for their valuable contributions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

HerNet Foundation’s groundbreaking initiative has garnered support from a wide array of partners, including the French Embassy in Bangladesh, the Rotary Club, and various media and corporate entities. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to fostering a progressive and sustainable future for Bangladesh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
