At 90 years old, Sundari Begum, a resident of Pabna, relies on a wooden cane for mobility. Her life took a turn for the better when she was granted a house<\/p>\n\n\n\n

 and land under Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s Ashrayan Project-2, putting an end to her family’s long-standing housing woes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Until recently, Sundari and her family resided in a precarious, borrowed house from a neighbor, lacking a place to truly call home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I am no longer without a home, all thanks to Hasina (Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina), who provided me with this house. May Allah bless her with a long and prosperous life,” she expressed with gratitude to a UNB correspondent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Ashrayan Project’s far-reaching initiative has brought relief to many underprivileged individuals, commemorating the Mujib Year, which celebrates the 100th birth anniversary of Father of the Nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a recent development, an additional 22,101 people gained new hope as PM Hasina declared 12 more districts and 123 upazilas as free from the scourge of homelessness and landlessness through the Ashrayan-2 endeavor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a virtual conference from her official residence at Ganabhaban, the premier made the announcement and inaugurated the distribution of semi-pucca houses to these deserving families.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This latest expansion brings the tally to 21 districts and 334 upazilas across the nation that have now been freed from the grip of landlessness and homelessness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the event, keys to 22,101 houses and ownership documents for house lands were handed over, aiming to provide a stable foundation for around 115,000 individuals seeking rehabilitation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The premier virtually connected with beneficiaries and local communities at three distinct locations for this distribution, marking a significant milestone since the initiation of the Mujib Year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These locations included the Barasat Sonar Bangla Palli Ashrayan Project site in Terokhada Upazila under Khulna, the Chakla Ashrayan-2 project site in Bera Upazila under Pabna, and the Amanullahpur Ashrayan project site in Begumganj Upazila under Noakhali district.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, this comprehensive initiative has led to 12 districts earning the distinction of being liberated from the challenge of housing instability, contributing to the empowerment and upliftment of the local communities. These districts include Manikganj, Rajbari, Mymensingh, Sherpur, Dinajpur, Naogaon, Natore, Pabna, Kushtia, Pirojpur, and Jhalakathi.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
